Certified NFPA Firefighter 1
Training Program

The NH Fire Academy recognized that family and work commitments can make attending the traditional FFI and FFII programs very difficult.  As such, the New Hampshire Fire Academy has recently rolled out the ON MY TIME training program for both FFI and FFII.

The ON MY TIME training program is designed for students who wish to acquire the necessary training to be eligible for FFI and FFII testing and certification outside the traditional Academy program. The programs are certified by Pro Board and once certified the certification is accepted in most states including Vermont.

This program allows students to complete the online training requirements at their own pace and then coordinate with a certified NH State Fire Instructor to teach and test the skills portions of the module.

The skills session will Incorporate the Job Performance Requirements detailed in NFPA 1001 v. 2019 and the Academy's Firefighter I and II curriculum - 2019 edition.

Once all modules are satisfactorily completed you must sit for a written exam. Successfully passing the written exam will result in New Hampshire certification that is reciprocal with many states including Vermont.

The directors of Twin State are including these classes that will be certified and on your permanent record:

PPE & Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus - 2 day/Sat & Sun
Tools & Equipment - 1 day/Saturday
Ropes and Knots - 1/2 day Sunday
Portable Fire Extinguishers - 1/2 day/Sunday
The ropes and knots and portable extinguishers modules
will be offered only as a 1 day class on Sunday

See course descriptions below.

Students taking the certified firefighter classes must:

1. Register with RespondNH.org (regardless of your state).

2. Complete the on-line portion of the module and bring a completion certificate to the class.

3. Provide a NH Fire Academy Medical Release Form which can be signed either by a healthcare provider or your fire chief
